the perfect nail polish color for fall

As it is getting colder here in Germany, I’m getting really excited for fall and all the changes in fashion and beauty that come with it. Just think of all those warm and cozy sweaters! The coming months are the perfect time for wearing dark and rich colors.

Matching to this time of the year I bought this nail polish by catrice in the color “38 Vino Tinto”.

I think it is just perfect for those grey, rainy days or for catching the last warm sun rays!

nail polish #5

This nail polish color I bought recently isn’t really a summer one. Nonetheless I really like it! Especially if you go out in the evening I think it’s great.

The color is called “59 First Class Up-Grape” from catrice.

I thought the color would actually turn out a bit lighter. Still I like the color.

Catrice is one of my favorite nail polish brands, because the quality is really good at the price! I already wrote about another color here. I also like the new brush they have added. It really felt a bit easier to apply it.

flower nail art

Sorry for not updating the blog for so long! I had exams so it was quite stressful.

Today I’m sharing a nail art I did the other day. I got inspired by the essie youtube channel. More exactly by this video.

I didn’t use the exact same colors as in the video, but instead mixed some I already had. I always use a base coat and a top coat by Manhattan. I primed my nails with a violet-red color (number 57U) also by Manhattan.
Then I started dotting the flowers. You can use a special dotting tool like they did in the video of if you don’t have one, like me, you can also use a toothpick instead. I think this works just fine if you don’t want to buy a dotting tool. Of course it isn’t that easy to get dots the exact same size. I did three different flower colors. The nail polishes I used were a pink one (number 51T) again from Manhattan, a white one from flomar and a mint one (615 mint for life) from Maybelline.

I suggest to start with one color and use it on all nails. Then you should really wait until it is dry, so you can start with the second one and maybe even overlay the flowers. Same for the third color.

I had really fun trying it and I think it isn’t too difficult, especially if you aren’t very experienced with nail art like me.

Have you done something similar before? Will you try this one?

nail polish #3

If I like something girly and glitter, that still works with an everyday look, I often opt for a glittering nail polish. At the moment I like the color “Must-Have STEELetto” from catrice.

Sometimes I do all my nails with it, but then you have at least to apply it twice, so that the colors covers well.

On other days I like to use the color on only one nail (usually on my ring fingernail) and paint the rest in a pink nail polish from essie I wrote about here. I think both colors work very well together as the sparkling one has a slight pink touch to it.

The only thing I’m still struggling a bit with is getting all the glitter of. Have you got any tips?

Nail polish #2

As it is getting warmer and warmer I thought I could start wearing a more colorful nail polish, so I opted for a green one from Manhattan. Actually I never wear green, but I think nail polishes are a cheap and easy way to change your usual style.

Up to now I only wore it on my toenails, because the colors is really conspicuous, but as the temperature mounts I’m getting braver with colors.
